Wendy Bauer Apparel is a place where a passion for fabric and fashion meets the realities of women wearing clothing that suit their bodies, ages, and sense of style. My apparel embraces the capacity of color to delight and of design to comfort. The bodies and lifestyles of real women guide my design process. I use new, vintage, and rescued material emphasizing zero-waste sewing techniques. They are made slowly. My goal is to create one of a kind pieces that can be worn just as the wearer wants - dressed up or dressed down.

 My Story

My sewing began as a young girl and was enhanced by the weaving, knitting, embroidery and dyeing I have done over the years. Now in the preferment stage of life I am enjoying all aspects of slow fashion – finding, and adapting fabric into one-of-a-kind pieces that enhance their wearer. A long-time New Bedford resident, I create in a converted studio on the third floor of my home.

Now showing and selling my work has added to the joy I get from creating, when I see others enjoying it as well. Promoting and educating about sustainable fashion is also very rewarding.
